Neela Dance Academy provides rigorous training in traditional Kathak and Kuchipudi dance styles in order to build a strong foundation for each student. Attention is given to both practical and theoretical aspects of the dance form. For beginners, emphasis is placed on proper footwork, limb movement and in understanding of the basic taal/rhythmic structure. As the student progresses to more advanced level, emphasis is placed on facial expression/abhinaya and more complex and varied rhythmic patterns. Numerous performance opportunities become available to the student as they blossom.

Weekly in-person Kathak and Kuchipudi dance classes are offered all thoughout the year - beginning from age 6 to adult. Classes are available in Mid-town, Manhattan and in Jackson Heights, Queens.

Group classes and private (one-on-one) classes are also avaialble
